O Child of God

O Child of God

This is a hymn by Fanny Crosby. It comforted my poor soul.

I almost thought about putting Psalm 30:5 or Psalm 39:7 on the picture.
Both the Psalms fit well with this theme of trustfully waiting on our God.

Isaiah 26:3

thanks to Jason for this great image and to God for His goodness to us

Psalm 6:3

Psalm 6
To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith.
A Psalm of David.

O LORD, rebuke me not in your anger,
nor discipline me in your wrath.
Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing;
heal me, O LORD, for my bones are troubled.
My soul also is greatly troubled.
But you, O LORD--how long?
Turn, O LORD, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
For in death there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?
I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
My eye wastes away because of grief;
it grows weak because of all my foes.
Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping.
The LORD has heard my plea;
the LORD accepts my prayer.
All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.

Isaiah 66:2

Monday, October 03, 2005

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground; (Genesis 3:18)
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Proverbs 27:15

Note: This is an odd one. It is actually a picture that I took of my ceiling using Josh's camera (thanks Josh). My ceiling had been leaking for the past few weeks. There were several times when the water would be dripping into my room, I would think of this verse from Proverbs. Hence, I made this background.
